Challenge – Marine Air Filters Exposed to North Sea Salt Water and Exhaust Smoke
This semi-submersible drilling unit was designed as a harsh environment floater, with a water depth capacity up to 2,000 ft. The rig operates in the world’s harshest offshore conditions, in the coldest climates and functions within some of the strongest and largest wave swells in the world. These particular marine air filters were needed for use inside a switch room, exposed to salt water and subject to exhaust smoke from the powerful drilling equipment engines, dependent on wind direction.
Solution – DustEater Washable Marine Air Filters
The DustEater® Air Filter series is proven to provide highly efficient system-wide air filtration with low resistance to airflow. Utilizing two electrostatically charged fabric panels separated by our unique ACCUMULATOR CHAMBER® produces a very effective three-stage filtration process. DustEater is washable, environmentally friendly with no disposable parts. The filter media and stainless steel frame is made to withstand harsh, corrosive environments.
