Institutional Buildings Air Filter Solutions
Airborne particles and debris are constantly drawn
into the air intakes and louvers of hospitals, nursing homes
and school HVAC units, condensers and air cooled chillers
across the country. Cottonwood seeds, leaves, pollen, paper
debris, industrial waste, nesting birds, construction debris and
insects are continuously drawn into air intakes costing thousands
of dollars and man hours on equipment repair downtime and
maintenance. Debris insulates the coils, electronics and
other sensitive components, causing heat build-up, higher discharge
pressure and amp draws. Reduced air flow causes equipment to
run for longer cycle times, at reduced capacity, decreased life
expectancy, increased filter changes and escalating power
costs.
Proper air filtration will prevent debris from impacting equipment performance. Permatron air filtration products offer you cost effective solutions.
Case Studies
- University Intake Filters Make The Grade
The oldest and one of the top law schools in the United States is in the process of getting a major face lift. A portion of the major university renovation includes a new 250,000 square foot legal academic complex situated on top of a four story parking structure designed by architectural genius Robert A.M. Stern. School officials were concerned that the airborne dirt from the mass digging and construction work would be sucked into the building’s louvered air intakes that surround the outside of the building just below the windows. - Seniors Breath The Good Life
Willow Valley features multiple resident buildings. The Willow Valley Manor North offers 422 apartments averaging 1,300 sq. ft. each. Residents here had the opportunity to upgrade the quality of the air that circulates throughout their units HVAC system. Almost 170 residents, averaging 73 years old, responded to a special offer in the “North Notes” newsletter to purchase washable electrostatic air filters. The idea for the upgrade originated with one of the residents who had been dissatisfied with the filter provided with his apartment’s HVAC system.
