Food Industry Refrigeration Air Filter Solutions

2-7-reachin-refrigeration-unit

As large amounts of flour dust, oil mist and other airborne particulates circulate throughout the air in busy food service establishments, critical refrigeration condensing units for walk in coolers, freezers and ice machines are failing due to dirty coils and excessive heat.  Regular maintenance is complicated when the condensing unit's air intake is located in an inaccessible or heavy traffic area.  Cleaning the coils regularly is not an easy option.  Messy chemicals and rinsing is recommended by the manufacturer, but there is no place for the cleaner and debris to run off, except down to the counters, and possibly on to the food preparation areas.  Airflow obstructions and coated coils prevent refrigeration systems to run at peak efficiencies.

Proper air filtration will prevent debris from impacting equipment performance.  Permatron air filtration products offer you cost effective solutions.

Case Studies

  • Starbucks Pastry Case Air Intake Filter
Starbucks® Coffee has turned the once simple act of coffee drinking into an art form, offering more than 30 coffee blends and handcrafted beverages in a socially relaxing neighborhood setting. Critical refrigeration system components and air intake fins , located at foot traffic level, are prone to suck in dust and debris along with necessary fresh air. In refrigeration cases, a dirty clogged condenser coil restricts airflow and makes the system work harder and consume more electricity to maintain its temperature.
  • Bonnet Filters Pass AIB Inspection Guidelines
Processing plants that produce cereal are subject to AIB (American Institute of Baking) inspection audits that mandate high standards of sanitation in food processing and handling establishments. Quality assurance that cross contamination is intercepted or eliminated is so vital to the food processing industry that steep penalties for violations are the norm. AIB Safety Audit & Inspection guidelines include Dust Collection & Filtering Devices be put in place to prevent possible contamination to food products from threads, lint and fibers. PreVent® Equipment Protection Bonnet Filters enable a facility to pass the AIB audit by covering air circulator fan guards with a washable filter.
  • Primo Restaurant Walk-In Cooler
As the delicious Italian foods cook in the kitchens of Parisi’s Primo Pizza & Pasta Restaurant large amounts of flour dust and oil mist circulate throughout the air, coating appliances, condenser coils and other costly equipment necessary to run a very busy kitchen as successfully. After cooling and ventilation systems have been installed, many mechanical contractors find themselves rigging a filtration solution to protect the costly equipment from this hostile environment.
