Permatron’s new Equipment Protection Screen is an electrostatic polypropylene media cut-to-fit over the entire condenser fin surface, and affixed by magnetic or hook/loop attachment.  If grease and dirt coat condenser fins and coil surfaces, they impact their ability to transfer heat, requiring repeated maintenance for coil cleaning. Debris insulates the coils, causing heat buildup, higher discharge pressure and amp draw.  Condensers run for longer cycle times, at reduced capacity, leading to compressor breakdowns.  Increased horsepower or energy requirements as a result of dirty heat transfer surfaces, reduced airflow due to lint/dirt, and corrosion deposits can be as high as 40%.
